Barcelona have issued a statement denying rumors they are considering parting ways with sporting director Deco after just over a year in the role.

Deco replaced football directors Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany last summer but the club remains in dire financial difficulties.

His work in the transfer market has been seen as disappointing, with only Dani Olmo and Pau Victor arriving this summer. Catalan newspaper http://ufabet999.app Sport

says Deco’s future is a question mark and he could consider leaving the position . The publication claims that Deco finds working at Barcelona at a time when its financial situation is dire “too difficult and complicated”.

Barcelona “categorically deny” reports coming out of Spain that former player-turned-sporting director Deco is considering leaving his role.

Reports suggested that Deco, who played for the club between 2004 and 2008, was weighing up his future at Camp Nou following a difficult summer transfer market.

But the Spanish giants have strongly denied the rumours and said that they “could not be happier” with the job Deco is doing.

“In response to the piece titled ‘Deco, disappointed, meditating his future,’ the club would like to state that it could not be happier with the job Deco is doing and refute this article that has appeared at the end of the transfer window.”

Deco left his role as an agent in 2023 before signing a three-year contract as sporting director at his former club.

However, Barcelona have now released a strong statement denying this, insisting that they are happy with the former midfielder’s performance at the club.
