Udinese technical director Gianluca Nani has revealed the club are not looking to sell Lazar Samardzic but confirmed AC Milan have opened preliminary talks with the Serbian international.
Samardzic has emerged as one of Milan targets to strengthen their midfield this summer.
Ufabet Sport reports that the Rossoblu value the 22-year-old at €15m, but Sport Italia claim that Udinese are targeting €20m.
“Samardzic is a Udinese player that we don’t want to sell because he is an important player,” Nani said.
“It is clear that if we receive a sufficient offer, it is part of our job to evaluate the players, their followers and the teams that are interested. Samarčić is not a player that we offer to other clubs because we think he is important.”
Samardzic had a medical with AC Milan’s rivals Inter Milan last summer, but the midfielder’s agent and father were unable to reach an agreement with the Nerazzurri.
Milan are now interest in the 22-year-old and ยูฟ่าเบท have report reach a personal agreement with the player.
“There was quick contact (with Milan), but no offers or negotiations,” Nani confirmed.
“He’s a Udinese player now and we want to keep him,”
“I would be surprise if top clubs don’t look at him. Inter, Lazio and some Premier League clubs have done it. He’s a strong player, he’s ask for, which is something we’re very proud of.”
Samardzić has scored 13 goals and provided nine assists in 97 appearances in all competitions for Udinese and his contract with the club expires in June 2026.
He played a key role in Udinese’s survival last season, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 34 league games.
